Could not login. Valid authentication credentials were not provided.

Does Blackboard refuse to accept your username/password no matter how many times you've entered it?   Do you keep receiving the message "Could not login.  Valid authentication credentials were not provided" when trying to access your courses?

The problem could be an expired password.

UHD Passwords expire after 90 days.
Students who suspect they have an expired password can change their password by clicking on the "Forgot Password" link on the UHD Blackboard login page (see below).  The "Forgot Password" link will take you to the UHD Student Password Manager page.

*UHD Blackboard Support recommends waiting 5-10 minutes after changing your password before attempting a Blackboard login.

For password help, UHD Students should contact UHD Student Technology Services at 713-221-8540 or the UHD Help Desk at 713-221-8031.

  1. We are having trouble with the Grading Center and more than one attempts. Students do not know how to get the attachments that I send to them and how to resend their documents after they rewrite.

Is there anything that you have that I can send to my classes to explain this process?

  2. Thanks for your comment, Ms. Mitchell! I would be happy to draft you a document for your students on this topic.

Here is a video from the official Blackboard that covers how to download and submit an assignment:

Let me know if you would like me to create a document.
